Minutes 29th February 2024

1. WELCOME AND APOLOGIES (AND ANY DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST)
The Chair welcomed the partnership members and apologies were noted. Amanda has declared an interest and requested a form for completion. Action Angela to send form to Amanda
2. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING AND MATTERS ARISING
The minutes of the meeting of 27th November 2023 were approved.
3. LTO UPDATE
The LTO provided a financial update. The budget of £521,650.00 was approved for years 6 to 10 plus an additional £94,650.
The total spend to date is £278,302.49 with £337,997.51 remaining.
Our final plan has been approved and Local Trust have released a payment of £155,000.00.
4. BL REP UPDATE
Kate was unable to attend our meeting. Amanda updated the partnership following the submission of our final plan. This has now been approved and a payment has been received. Further information will need to be provided before the remaining two payments are released. A review of our plan will be undertaken by Local Trust in October 2024 to review our progress.
5. SUB GROUP UPDATES
The following small grants have been paid:
– St Johns Community Hall – upgrade of the Sturrock room
– Brighouse Explorer Scouts – replacement tents for Duke of Edinburgh awards
The following small grant has been received and is awaiting approval:
– Musicians Who Care – interactive music sessions in Rastrick Care Homes and Community Centres
– St Johns Church – for cost of energy assessment
Rastrick Cricket Club: An application has not been submitted as it was agreed that this cost could be paid out of the funding paid out for the larger project.
We are still awaiting the £5,000 contribution from CFFC. Action: Amanda L to follow this up
b) Marketing and website
We are continuing to update the website and facebook with local information.
c) Treasurers Report
The balance of the RBL account at 29th February 2024 is £533.69
The funding for the Friends of Rastrick Cemetery of £300 is still being held.
6. PROGRESS AGAINST REVISED PLAN
Energy project in discussion – partnership network meetings
Jason Middleton who is leading this project attended the RBL meeting to update on the progress. There are seven groups within the Community who are part of this network. The next step is that each group will have an independent energy assessment undertaken to assess their needs. The group and RBL are in regular communication on this project.
The next meeting is on 5th April 2024 at Cromwell Bottom.
Community worker at Space@Field Lane
Space have received funding from another funder. Rastrick Big Local will work with them to discuss the possibility of funding a Community worker at Space for the first year and Space then taking over their employment. This idea is under discussion.
Community Garden at Space
There are a number of people in the Community who are interested in being part of this project. Again this is under discussion.
Cricket Club enhancement – Community hub
A budget has been allocated to the Cricket Club to make enhancements to the club and grounds to enable it to be used for a variety of purposes. RBL and the Cricket Club are continuing to liaise on this project.
Party in the Park 2025
RBL plan to hold an event to celebrate the achievements made in the Community. The details, venue and time of year are yet to be finalised.
7. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
a) START: Following a discussion it was decided that Rastrick Big Local would not pursue this further. Action: Amanda to contact Alastair
