Ward Forum grants available
Do you require funding for a new project?
The Council has made a total of £5,000 available for each ward to be spent by March 2021. The fund must be spent on grants for activities and projects that benefit the Ward.
It must be a group that applies, and that group must have a constitution (or rules), a bank account in the name of the organisation, and a policy describing how you will safeguard children, young people or vulnerable adults.
The maximum grant per application is £500.
Your local Neighbourhood Team is running the scheme for your ward, and eligible applications will be decided upon by Ward Councillors and the Neighbourhood Team; decisions will be reported back to Ward Forums. In the future when Ward Forums are back in place, residents attending will be more involved in the decision making process and will be able to influence priorities and projects.
Your application form should be sent to the Neighbourhood Team for the panel to consider and it must meet one of the following priorities:
Priority 1 – Community Celebrations and bringing people together X (not during Covid emergency)
Priority 2 – Improve the health and well-being of local people
Priority 3 – Improving the Environment in the Ward
It is essential that any activities planned during the current emergency observe Government guidelines to keep safe and contain the spread of COVID-19. Please visit the Government’s web page for the social distancing guidance.
In the absence of associated Government guidance and a date when gatherings may be permitted the Council is currently advising organisers against entering into any commitment, financial or otherwise, that may later become an issue if for any reason an event cannot take place.
For an online form email wardforums@calderdale.gov.uk.
Please note : if you would like to raise an issue, suggestion or comment on the area you live get in touch Neighbourhood Team.
